January 14, 2010LSCA hosted Life Science Roundtable for dislocated life science workers. More than 140 dislocated workers attended the event held at Penn State Great Valley. The forum included a panel of Human Resource professionals from local hiring companies and break-out sessions for Q&A with the employer representatives focusing on critical job-seeking elements.

December 8, 2009Robert E. Croner joins LSCA board. Mr. Croner, Sr. Vice President, Human Resources, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, was appointed to fill the seat formerly held by Margaret Mebane Jones, Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief People Officer, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

March 28, 2009 — Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology Philadelphia a huge hit for second year in a row. Approximately 150 girls and 75 accompanying adults attended. At least 59 schools were represented. There were 38 volunteers (including staff) and 15 exhibitors. Donations (raffle items, give-aways, other materials) were received from 16 sources, including corporations, foundations, universities, and associations. GETT began in Chester County in 2001 where it was conceived and developed by the Innovative Technology Action Group which held its ninth annual GETT program on the same day as the Philadelphia event.
